What Happens After I Reserve My Bernedoodle Puppy?

You've Selected a Puppy...Now What?
1. Pickup and Delivery
Local Pickup
You can pick up your puppy at our place on most days except Sunday. (be sure to schedule an appointment with us) Any puppies picked up in Illinois are subject to 6.25% state sales tax. Puppies delivered outside Illinois are not subject to state tax. If you are coming from the states east of us we can meet you in Terre Haute or Vincennes, Indiana for a small fee. If you live in Illinois you are required to pay state tax regardless of where the puppy is picked up/delivered.
Ground Delivery
If you can't pick up locally, we have several ground shipping options available. We can (in most situations) deliver directly to your home for $1.50 per mile (One way). If we have more than one puppy going to the same area, we can often split the delivery fee and get a much better rate. We would be happy to discuss the options with you and help you decide what option is the best for you.
Flight Nanny
We do not hire outside flight nannies. Our puppies are personally delivered by one of the Walnut Valley Puppies team members. The puppies are flown with us in-cabin and are delivered to you in your local airport. They are carried in a breathable, soft travel carrier, have a chance to go the bathroom along the way, and get lots of love and snuggles as they travel. The price is $475 (this includes the $125 pet fee) plus the price of the airline ticket.
Airport Pickup
If you want to fly the puppy yourself we can meet you at the Indianapolis Airport for $175 within business hours. You will then be responsible to purchase your own airline tickets.
2. Puppy Food
What Food Should You Feed Your Puppy?
Choosing the right food to feed your new puppy is crucial to it's overall health and well-being and is something that should be done with careful thought and consideration. In our opinion, pawTree sells the some of the best dog food and supplements on the market.

Here’s a few things you can expect by feeding pawTree:

We will include a small container of puppy food in the bag that goes home with your puppy. This is only so you don't need to bring food along on your trip and will only last a day or two. Please wait until after our conversation to order your first bag of food.
3. Vet Appointment
Do you have a Veterinarian you plan to work with?
We ask that you take your puppy to your vet within 72 hours after they come home. Now is a good time to do research and figure out which vet you will work with. After you know when the puppy will come home your next step will be to get an appointment that is within 72 hours after delivery/pickup. In some areas local vets may be booked out several weeks so it's important to be thinking ahead here!
There will be a Health Record in the paperwork that comes with your puppy. Make sure you take this with you to your vet. This will show your vet all the shots and vaccinations that your puppy has had, and he will be able to get you on the right schedule to finish out your puppy's shots.
Puppies may pick up common parasites, such as giardia, coccidia, roundworm, etc. We actively work on preventing and eliminating these parasites by putting dogs and pups on a strict deworming program and more. If for any reason your puppy does not check through clear and needs some sort of treatment or medication, we will reimburse you 100% for that cost. But only if you take your puppy to a Licensed Veterinary within 72 hours.
To Do Now: Find a Veterinary to work with.
To Do After Our Call: Book an appointment for your puppy.
4. Purchase Agreement & Health Guarantee
You will be signing a Purchase Agreement form when you get your puppy. If you want to read that now, you can do so by clicking the button below.
5. Final Payments
How to pay the balance on your new puppy.
We will be sending you the invoice for the balance due on your puppy. Balance payments can be made with Bank Transfer, Cash, Check, or PayPal/Credit Card. (The best option is bank transfer. You will receive an email with your invoice, and the bank transfer is easily done through a link in the invoice. There is no fee on your end.) If you pay with a check, we have to clear the check with our bank before the puppy goes home.
The balance must be paid in full before the puppy goes home unless you are paying with cash at pickup/delivery.
Balance payments that are paid with PayPal or a Credit Card will be subject to a 3% processing fee.
